Student learning happens when they feel calm and in an engaging environment. I am moving into a much larger classroom and have the space to create small learning spaces. The large round carpet, round table and bean bag chairs will begin to create these spaces. The carpet area will allow students to meet in book clubs without having to sit on hard, cold tile floor. The bean bag chairs will allow students to sit comfortable and loose themselves in a good book. The round table will give students a small area where they can problem solve and work together. Flexible learning areas give students power. When students are able to move and choose where to sit, they are more engaged in their own learning. By helping with this project, you are helping to create an engaging environment where students are collaborating and learning together.
