My goal each day is to empower my students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. My students come to school each and every day ready to take on the world and to learn, challenging themselves to be better than they were the day before! Math can be a challenging subject for many students. Prior to entering middle school, many students have already formed an opinion of the subject. I do my best to make math fun and engaging for students on a daily basis. My favorite compliment is to hear students say "Mrs. Aiken, I used to hate math, but you prove that it can be fun." I am constantly looking for strategies and resources that can be used for engaging learners and making math fun.
