Technology is always growing and changing, let's help our students keep up with it. My class is in need of tablets that come with protective cases to be used as a technology station during guided reading. These tablets will open up a whole new world of learning for my students. Not only will they engage in hands-on learning, but they will also target multiple learning styles while keeping students engaged at the same time. The Kindle Fires I'm requesting will be used to provide my students with hands-on learning experiences they might not otherwise have. My students will have the opportunity to use this technology to complete word work, practice spelling words, answer digital task cards, access engaging videos (Brain POP) and read grade level articles on current events (Newsela). Last year, my students were given the opportunity to bring in their cell phones to scan QR codes and match the text features. The level of engagement in my classroom that day was one I'd like to witness every single day of the school year.
