In most classrooms today, we employ blended learning. Blended learning is the mix of teacher-led instruction and computer-based instruction. In many computer-based programs, students are required to watch a video, listen to a podcast, etc. at their own pace. Headphones will allow students to work at their own pace without disrupting others or being disrupted by others. Many students also work better in a quiet environment. Headphones with noise cancelling capabilities will be a vital asset for the success of these students. They will be able to put the headphones on during assignments that don't even require use of the computer, and this will drown out some of the noise other students may be making around the classroom.
