I teach in public school in a low income area in California. One hundred percent of my students are disadvantaged economically and many struggle academically without the proper resources available to them. Many of my students go without basics on a daily basis. About eighty percent of my students are English Language Learners. There are many different cultures represented, which makes for a diverse classroom community. Even with all the challenges they face, my students are a constant reminder that positive attitudes prevail. I have 21 energetic, kind, and motivated students in my classroom.
