Each items was specifically chosen to help in various ways in our classroom.
The items I have selected will give my students an assortment of hands on learning activities for language arts, math, and science.
To enhance my student’s engagement for reading stations, I have selected Lakeshore’s Language Instant Learning Centers. I have used these stations previously in my last school and my students loved to use these! There is a kit for specific skills sets for my students to practice during their reading stations. The sort and store book totes will be used as their Reading Suitcase for the year. Students will get to take books home to practice reading with their family. My students love to move up levels as they continue to improve in their reading skills. They get to share their successes at home with their parents and at school! This helps keep the parents in the loop and involved with their child’s learning.
I have selected STEM based items to inspire my students to be creative and use problem solving in their everyday lives. The kindergarten curriculum focuses mainly on reading and math. STEM activities are often overshadowed in developing our students to become early readers. The requested items have activities that are self-directed and require the development of problem solving skills. The best part of STEM activities is the students are learning through play!
The other items are classroom supplies that will be used daily to help our class run and function smoothly!
