Help us transform our second grade classroom into a flexible learning environment! Imagine a classroom where students are putting their own style on learning. Students are balancing on a ball as they reach a new reading level, a group is laying on pillows as they play a phonics game, and a timid student finds the courage to share their writing with the class, standing on a stage. Seems pretty engaging, right? We are in need of additional help to make our dream classroom community a reality. You may think, this sounds more like a playground than a classroom. The truth is, children should be having fun and be comfortable as they learn, especially in the formative elementary years. Research has shown that a flexible learning environment increases student productivity and improves focus. Having differentiated options for seating allows students to take ownership of their learning style. They get to choose how they learn best! This project will provide students with seating options such as balance balls, wiggle seats, cushions, stools, and engaging technology. Let's bring comfort and fun into the classroom!
