Several students walk into math class thinking they are not "math people" and already have a fixed mindset that they never will be. My goal is to challenge this mindset! With the resources in this project, my students will be able to engage in problem solving through the use of games. My students love to move and learn at the same time. With the resources listed in this project, I will have the tools needed to provide them with several opportunities to get excited about math class. I'd like my students to discover that math is fun! Some examples of how I'd use the resources in this project include: teaching surface area using hands-on activities with the Magna-Tiles, using the jumbo playing cards to engage students in probability, getting students out of their seats solving equations while playing I Have, Who Has?, providing additional activities for exercising our brains through the use of IQ games, interactive and differentiated practice with the dry erase pockets, and so much more! The gateway to encouraging everyone to participate is to play! Every student at any level of math ability can experience success by engaging in a variety of fun and challenging games. I appreciate your support in making our 7th grade math class unforgettable.
