My school is not only limited on funds but severely limited in space. It is sometimes disheartening to hear other teachers discuss raised bed gardening projects or other hands-on agriculture projects knowing my school does not have space available for such projects. These greenhouses, planting materials, and growing lights will transform our space and our opportunities. With a recent reconciliation of small outdoor space our students would have an opportunity to learn how to create sustainable food sources while faced with real life urban challenges. Students will not only learn responsibility through scientific endeavors, but we will also use this project as hands-on data research, to engage in agricultural experiences, and empower them to become urban farmers themselves.
