I am returning to the classroom full time after 16 years, thus I am starting over in regards to acquiring materials for my classroom. Because teachers provide so many of the items for their classroom by purchasing them with personal funds, teachers take these items with them when they leave. I would like to ensure that my new classroom contains the resources that my students need for learning and development and that those items stay with the program/classroom should I leave so that future students and teachers can benefit from them. Early Childhood classrooms need to have a well-equipped environment so children have a variety of opportunities to develop language and literacy skills. Providing a print-rich bilingual environment for my students that includes books, posters, and games in Spanish and English; will challenge students' minds as they acquire new vocabulary and early literacy skills while learning and having fun.
