These materials will help make a differnce in my students learning by giving them something that they are interested in reading and with the novel studeies we will complete will help them become more active readers. Charlotte's Web and Where the Red Fern Grow have movies that the students will be able to compare and contrast. Also Charlottes Web allows for different characters so can have the students act out scences from the book. The fidget toys will allow them to stay focused and will be used as an incentive when they are struggling with appropriate behavior and encourage them to ask for one, when they know they are stuggling with appropriate behavior. Students have asked for Therapy putty in order to squeeze their anger out rather then verbalizing it or becoming physically aggressive. Students ask for them in order to help stay focused while reading. The weighted lap blankets provide a sensory relief for students who feel overwhelmed.
