We have requested a folding spade, garden trowels, gloves, and pruners to allow our students to learn about gardening and how to take care of flowers, plants, and vegetables. These skills can be brought home, back into the community, and used to enable New Yorkers to be more green and spread the beauty of nature throughout Brooklyn. These skills will also allow students to teach their parents home gardening skills so they can eat healthy and live self-sustainably. Our students have a strong desire to learn how to grow things that can help the members of their community, like organic vegetables that are harvested and shared. This inevitably will help families live more economically while contributing to the local ecosystem and help reduce family carbon footprints.

About my class
