I am a 5th grade teacher and one of the aspects of teaching I love most is helping my students develop a love of reading. I was a reader growing up, and while I enjoyed the books chosen by my teacher, I grew most as reader when I was given autonomy over my books choices. I want to give my students the freedom to read what they want, as I work with each of them individually on their reading goals. This choice model requires more planning and management. Each student will need a place to keep all of their chosen books. These book bins will allow the students to move around the classroom, cozy up, and find their reading spot.
