These magazines will continue to expose students to a variety of text that covers a wide range of diverse real-world topics. I've noticed over the years that students enjoy reading independently, utilizing my print-rich classroom library. However, they are constantly inquiring about topics that aren't written in children's books. Our curriculum now fuses science and social studies with reading. Current events with informational text are so important. All of these magazines sparks student interest and boosts vocabulary. Students will get exposed to a wide range of cultures and gain empathy through learning about the lives of others. Kids magazines are interactive with high-interest content that allow children to find a story that they connect with. With these new magazines, my students will be exposed to real-world informational text that will allow for deep thinking and immerse discussions. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these magazines will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. Students have already shown an astonishing interest in learning more about different cultures and backgrounds, and this project will only help enrich their experiences while celebrating diversity within my classroom. I want my students to read, lead and succeed!
