Escape Rooms have become all the rage in recent years. Countless adults and children alike have enjoyed collaboratively solving puzzles while creating exciting memories. When we reflect back on your own school memories, it is the experiences we recall, not the specific lessons. There is no better way to immerse students into learning than giving them an "experience" to remember! The Breakout EDU kits facilitate the experience of collaborative work while solving a series of challenging math problems to unlock a sequence of physical locks. One of the most difficult things to teach is retention of information. Research shows that a full-immersion experience helps to make concepts stick long term. Breakout EDU activities take the fear out of having to solve a problem correctly the first time. Instead, students learn to persevere as each unsuccessful attempt to open a lock gives them infinite opportunities to get it right. The old adage, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." is a powerful learning tool. I would love the opportunity to provide my students the Breakout EDU "experience" to challenge their collaborative, critical-thinking, and math problem-solving skills. We are requesting two Breakout EDU kits so that every student has a chance to work with a team.
