Many students are visual learners, which means they learn better by seeing something and not just hearing about it. If students have access to a document camera in the classroom, I can share with students, even if they don't want to be right up front or can't all be up front all at once, whatever we are working on. Examples of this could be dissections, things we find outside, student work, and much, much more. Having a document camera will allow me, as the teacher, to give more visual representation to every student and have them become more engaged with their learning. This engagement will take place because if students are able to share things they find, or their written work, they will become more willing to do this with the use of the document camera.
