Having regular access to Chromebooks will help students take their learning beyond the textbooks and outside the 4 walls of our classroom! Although first grade students are young, they are eager and fully able to dive into technology based learning. On an individual level, these Chromebooks will allow struggling students more practice in reading and math as they will have more frequent access to the Lexia and IXL online learning programs. These programs provide a differentiated learning experience, helping students master a variety of targeted skills. The technology will also help English Language Learners in our classroom by granting them access to programs offering both their home language and English. As a whole class, we are eager to more frequently utilize our online learning blog, SeeSaw. This website allows students to collaborate with one another as they post their work and provide feedback to their peers. In addition to communicating with one another, students can also connect with classrooms around the world taking learning to a whole new level! We are thrilled to have the opportunity to digitally transform our classroom and cannot wait to see where our online learning will take us!
