Using technology is essential in our classroom in order for students to learn a wide range of science content. My students can learn best when they can be more hands-on and part of virtual lessons and self-paced exploration through educational sites and apps. Having a 1:1 ratio of students to iPads will open their ceilings to the sky of limitless technological opportunities and initiatives that are available for my students. We currently have only 5 iPads in my classroom and it's my goal to have a class set. We are not classified as a Title I school; therefore, we don't have that kind of funding for technology. However, over 30% of our students live in a high poverty area. This gives us the same setbacks without the funding. We are in need of enough iPads so students can work independently as they engage in their learning and instruction with the help of technology. I hope you can help!
