My students need more exposure and practice reading non-fiction articles. Scholastic News provides articles that students can relate to and enjoy reading. Students will be able to improve their understanding of informational text and read about current events with these magazines. The high interest of Scholastic News helps students develop a love of non-fiction, even for hesitant and struggling readers. The online resources that come with the subscription also allow me to provide additional support to my ESL and below grade level readers. It also provides extensions to challenge high students. With built in differentiation and material the students relate to, these magazines will help all students succeed.
