I would really like to provide for my students a classroom set of the novel, Number the Stars. This novel is read aloud in my class every year and we do studies to pair it with our history class. Having this set of novels will allow me to integrate reading with history. Novel studies allow students to read something that they enjoy reading. Many students don't care to read because they aren't interested in the books that they are forced to read. I like to pick novels every year that they will enjoy and learn at the same time. The best part is seeing them after we are finished with our novel and them exclaim how much they loved it or see them going looking for the sequel.
