We all know that technology helps students become more engaged and proactive in their own learning. It excites students! The use of the Letters Alive program will help students achieve just that--manipulate letters and sounds to form words while having fun. This supplemental reading kit would used in my daily phonics instruction to introduce letters, their sounds, and build words. Letters Alive includes 26 alphabet and word building cards with animals that come alive in 3D augmented reality. Students will watch in amazement as animals introduce letters and their sounds. The animals also move to "action words" as sentences are being constructed from students. Seeing these animals come to life in 3D will keep students wanting more! Children hearing, seeing, touching, building, and speaking with the animals during phonics time will not only excite the students, but also help them retain information. According to the website, the Letters Alive program will help strengthen reading comprehension skills, vocabulary, and word building. These materials can be used whole group and then reinforced in small group setting. Seeing the animals "come alive" in 3D while reinforcing letter names, sounds, and word building would be an amazing experience for my students.
