My students love to journal. Every morning they have 30 seconds to find a comfortable spot anywhere in the classroom. They release their frustrations, their problems, and their emotions daily. This project will conclude as a typed memoir of their year in 3rd grade. They will journal every day as usual in their notebooks and use a portion of their computer time to type their weekly entries. Those entries will then be printed and placed in their uniquely decorated binder. The three objectives of this project are to provide a therapeutic release (social and emotional development), nurture and maintain their interest in writing, and provide the students with a memoir of their 3rd grade emotions and experiences.
