While working individually, in small groups, or as a whole they will be able to move freely around the classroom to better engage in the material that we are covering. This enables both myself and the students to easily differentiate materials to meet their needs. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more! By donating to this project you will be helping students become independent movers and shakers while still completing the task at hand. My students have always been noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The Active Learning Chair/Stools will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They will be used as alternative chairs in a flexible seating classroom. The Surf Portable Lap Desks will allow students to work independently around the classroom and will be used as an alternative to a traditional desk and chairs. In my classroom I utilize a lot of station work and allow students to move freely around the classroom to do their work. Some kids find that using clipboards can be difficult to balance on their legs and so these portable desks will be a great alternative. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
