Last year I started my first year of teaching and one of the many things I had to purchase for my classroom was a rug. The rug I got was one that I could afford, but it was not big enough for my 26 third graders. We spend a lot of time on the carpet and a lot of my students weren’t able to be cozy on the rug because of the size. We start our morning on the rug with a morning meeting, we do all our mini-lessons on the rug, they work on the rug during math centers and read on the rug during ELA. This is why I want to make this area more comfortable for my students and be able to fit them all on it. My goal is to get a larger rug so they can all sit on it comfortably!
