Our elementary school is set in an urban area. 78% of the students are from a low socioeconomic background. The school is a magnet school, so most of the students ride the bus to school from various places in the city. The student body is large with 1400 students from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Within the school, I teach special education. My students learn best by experience. I also mentor a Gardening/Environmental club. This way I can expose my students as well as others within the school to gardening experiences.
