Students missed out on having class discussions and collaborating in a group this year. These activities are so important because they reinforce reading comprehension and fluency. I am looking to expand my classroom library to include books that students like and that are appropriate for 4th grade. When they return to school, I want them love reading as much as I do. Reading is the gateway to literacy! Having class discussions and working in a group fosters collaboration skills and also inspires creativity. Group discussions and projects are great for struggling and reluctant readers. I want to make sure my students love reading as much as I do.
