These books will be used to help create a rich classroom library where my students have many print materials to choose from. I strive to help my students become better readers by giving them opportunities during the school day to read material that interest them and is on their reading level. As middle schoolers, my students read significantly below grade level. I want my students to show progress with reading not perfection. The only way I can help them show progress is by providing print material within our classroom that they can read. My students also struggle with social skills. I have to explicitly teach appropriate behaviors. These books will help me build a library of books related to teaching socially acceptable behaviors.
