The balance balls, wiggle seats and wobble stools will give my young, special learners a chance to move while staying engaged in activities that teach letter recognition, early reading skills, and hands-on math activities. The rectangle table will help us use the space more efficiently and allow my students to be seated near each other for small group activities. Flexible seating options for my students will promote independence and positive choices, as well as, self-control. Being able to choose a desired seat and use that seat properly within the classroom will not only encourage my students by meeting their sensory needs, but also challenge them to make effective choices that will benefit their individual needs.
