I am requesting books, puzzles and fidgets. These resources will help me address students' goals in their IEPs as well as Nevada Standards throughout the school year. While developing a community and joy for reading, we can address literacy standards: pre, during, and post reading strategies that include: narrative structure, vocabulary, predicting, character analysis, citing evidence, author's point of view. We can compare and contrast different stories. We can discuss themes, figurative language, points of view. Additionally, I can provide a space for the students to learn together through shared activities with puzzles and educational games. My students crave social interaction.
