Students are better able to grasp math concepts using hands-on activities and in small learning groups. Students working in small groups based off of ability will be able to get direct instruction and support for specific skills they lack. Due to the number of groups and teacher ratio, most groups will be without the teacher. These learning centers allow students to get extra practice and remediation with their peers, so I can work with each group without disruption. These independent centers provide guidance if students get the wrong answers. I would be able to have students in math groups, and not have to worry students are stuck on an activity, and eventually off task. When students are unable to complete an activity, behavior issues can arise. Keeping students engaged allows for a better learning environment for all students.
