Students will be able to craft their own costumes to match the clothing of the time period of the Shakespeare play we will perform. Getting bolts of fabric in basic colors will give them freedom to design their own personal costumes. They will research their costumes and designs to make them authentic as possible. This will teach research, design, creativity and self expression as they design costumes that match their character and their own personal style. This will be incredibly powerful compared to buying pre-made costumes or altering secondhand clothing. The troubleshooting and design principles related to costume creation are skills that easily transfer to other aspects of learning.
