In kindergarten, our kiddos are busy learning basic skills that form the foundation for their education. Although basic, these skills do not come easy. We are busy learning to read and communicate with our peers. An added factor is that many students in our classroom come without knowing English. "Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning". One of the most important components of learning to read is being able to retell a story. Throughout the year we work tirelessly to build up our ability to retell stories. Many of the stories used to teach retelling are included in the set of puppets listed. These puppets will not only help encourage kiddos to improve their retelling skills but also their language skills.
