Seventh graders in the small town in Massachusetts are curious, active adolescents who represent a divergent population from the very wealthy class to the homeless. While some students are very high tech with access to the latest technologies others in the same class have difficulty procuring enough notebooks for the basic five subjects of math,social studies,reading,writing, and science. The Middle School is a public school that within these last few years has lost 23 teaching positions in a three building district. Our library is at risk due to budgetary constraints. Yet these students and their parents have high aspirations for their children. A simple notebook in which they can document their scientific explorations will level the playing field for all.
