I teach social studies and English to a small middle school in the center of a major city. My students span a vast socioeconomic range, and it is a constant challenge to meet all of their educational needs in my classroom. I believe that having them all together in one class as opposed to grouping them based on ability levels is one of the real reasons why our school has such a wonderful climate. We want our students to meet each other and learn from each other in all different kinds of ways.
