My class is filled with active, enthusiastic scholars with a variety of learning styles. Flexible seating will allow my students to choose a seat that best suits their learning needs. Flexible seating empowers students to feel ownership over their learning environment which in turn creates a warm, positive classroom community. Flexible seating will be introduced gradually with one type of seat at a time so students can learn how to best use each kind of seat. That way when all seating options have been introduced they will have an idea of what works best for them! We will work together to create expectations for each kind of seat so students know when and how to use their new seats. Students who need to harness some of their extra energy will love having the option to use the desk bike pedals while they are working at their desks. Other students can direct their energy with wobble stools and yoga seats. Some students prefer to work on the rug and the lap desks will allow them to do so comfortably. The colorful stools will give students a place to sit while I am working with them during small group instruction. I am so excited to build an inviting learning space for my kids!
