This year I was fortunate enough to hear Adam Welcome speak. Mr. Welcome is a former elementary school principal who now speaks to educators around the country. He stressed the importance of students learning how to code. I teach special education, and my students often struggle in the traditional subjects of reading, English, math, etc. However, they often thrive with computer activities. I believe that materials such as a sphero, a coding robot mouse activity, and a coding caterpillar for my younger students are the perfect things to introduce them to coding. Coding is a skill that could benefit my students throughout their whole lives. As adults, they could end up working in the computer industry as a direct result of this project and the money donated to it. Please consider helping me bring coding activities to my classroom of special education students! Thank you!
