Students arrive in Kindergarten with a wide variety of experiences writing with pencils, cutting with scissors, and coloring with crayons. At the end of the year it is my goal to have all students writing sentences legibly, cutting out complex shapes, and coloring neatly within the lines. In order to achieve this goal, many students need to have their muscles in their hands and fingers strengthened. The engaging materials in this project will help students do just that as they curiously explore and build. As their muscles get stronger, their writing, cutting and coloring skills will develop to a place where they can be ready for first grade at the end of the school year.

About my class
