It's at the beginning of the school year and most of my students come from homes that cannot afford basic back to school items. I feel it is essential for all to feel equal in my class so they have the same items in their desk when school begins. This allows my students to feel equal, stay organized and allows more time to be ready to learn! Yay! I purchase several things on my own along with a reward basket in my class all year long. That can get very costly at times but well worth the smiles I get to see! I encourage my students to socialize on a higher thinking level by working together and they can do this by interacting with a variation of strategic projects and games. The projects and games I have chosen will allow my students to help learn from one another and to share, what, when, where, and why, by creating a hypothesis and instill problem solving techniques. The magnetic blocks are great for decision making and critical thinking. The flash cards and games tests a students memory and allows them to think on a positive competitive level!
With such a diverse world I feel it is a need to have projects in my class that are suited for groups of students according to their learning level. Please Help make this a great year for Ms. W's third grade!
