We have been chosen to lead the way into the digital age in a new program called Trailblazers. We were selected to represent first grade in a new initiative to save trees and Go Green!! As a part of the program we were given a class set of Chromebooks. The Sony headphones will really enhance my student's experience so they can concentrate on their individualized tasks. We are honored to have been chosen to lead the way for others to enter into the digital world that will help save our environment. So many trees will be saved in my classroom as we embark on a journey to go semi-paperless. I believe students should still have the experience of writing with pen and paper, but we will "cut down" on future costs instead of future trees. In a time and location where it is rare to have top quality resources, we are so blessed to have been funded with Chromebooks. However, we are not quite there. Our journey has been about 80% funded and we are looking to complete the set. Using differentiated instruction gives the students equity so they can reach their individual goals. This can be a noisy undertaking with 17 Chromebooks making sound. The goal of this project is to help the students by providing headphones so that they can focus on their individualized lessons without distractions.
