Flexible seating will create en engaging environment and allow my students to focus on the content I am teaching them. Through the use of choice my students will chose a spot in the room that will allow them to become a more successful student. That is why I chose two wobble chairs and two floor chairs so they can have these alternative options to sit.
Hands-On experiences and play will allow my students to become curious about the materials and will allow them to remember the content. These materials will allow my students to become more engaged and allow them to think critically as they develop these skills throughout the year. For example, the bean bags will be used with the game to practice number recognition skills and addition/subtraction. The magnets will help my students think critically and work on their stem skills as well. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds and a majority are ESL students who speak another language. I want to give them the authentic learning experiences that they deserve with the materials we need to have a successful year.
