My classroom library is one of the most special places in my classroom. Although I have many books in my current library, very few of my titles feature diverse characters, cultures, and authors. I have chosen a variety of titles for this project to add to my library that will better represent the students in my classroom. Diverse books provide mirrors for children to see themselves and windows to see other cultures around the world. I want to make all of my students feel welcome in my classroom and also teach them acceptance and tolerance of others' cultures and beliefs. This project would be a huge step towards making my classroom library more inclusive and representative of all students. I want my students to see themselves in the books they read.
