The horseshoe table will make a difference in my students' learning because they participate in small group reading activities on a daily basis. Guided Reading is the model that we use in my school. With a horseshoe table, the students will be able to see each other, me, and still remain focused on the reading at hand. I will be able to maneuver between individual students and then run a whole group. Students would also be able to work in other group projects that aren't necessarily teacher led. The flexibility of the use of this table in the classroom is endless! Students are absolutely more engaged when the teacher is sitting with them guiding the group or lesson. Students will be less distracted sitting at the horseshoe table when they are engaged in the important task of reading. I can see this table being used in numerous scenarios every day in the classroom.
