Help us make our flexible seating dreams a reality! Student choice is a powerful tool in the classroom and allowing students to choose where and how they'll sit during independent work time empowers them to take ownership of their learning. My students enjoy working around the room and these new seating options (yoga balls, ottomans, wobble stools, and wobble cushions) will allow for even more possibilities. Do you remember what it was like to sit in the same uncomfortable chair for 7 hours a day, 180 days in the year? Our bodies are not made to sit still for an extended period of time... why do we expect our students to? Studies show flexible seating increases retention and focus while decreases behavior and discipline issues. Our best learning moments are the most interactive. The learners in my room are diverse, the work spaces I provide should be too! Thank you!
