This past year, I worked with students to create a more inviting classroom space. We replaced all of our desks with tables or other cozy furniture using coffee shops, our own living rooms, and cozy spaces as our inspiration. It has been a fun source of growth for my students, and even myself, as we explore the world of student choice, freedom and responsibility. This year we were lucky enough to have 4 tall tables donated to our class; however, the tables did not come with any chairs. My students love having the option to stand, but they would also love the option to sit. These stools would give students the option to sit at a table with classmates for collaborative learning. They are fun, comfortable and brighten up the space! But most of all, they bring the "flexible" back to flexible seating by introducing more than one option for student choice, "seating" them up for success!
