Organization is key in our classroom! Teaching a classroom for children with autism requires a lot of materials. A large part of our program is discrete trial training, which is a process that teaches students various skills. These sessions require a large amount of materials, ranging from pictures, worksheets, visual cards, etc. In addition, we use a lot of supplemental materials to reinforce many of the skills we have taught in the classroom. Our classroom needs storage bins, not only to organize our room, but to declutter the room to make it less stressful. So many of our materials don't have a home, and are spread out throughout the room. These organization bins can help to give all of our materials an organized home, and free up some space in our room! Lastly, an Alexa Dot has so many features that can help improve spontaneous language in my students, which is a goal for all of my students. We are constantly setting timers throughout the day, asking what the weather is, and looking up questions that come about throughout the day.
