Vocabulary is one of the most important things students learn in school. From everyday words to content specific words students are learning new words daily. This is especially true for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students. Our ESOL students need good student dictionaries to help them learn. In a good dictionary, students can: * look up the meaning of a word that they see or hear (including if it has more than one meaning), * check the spelling of a word, * find a word's part of speech, * a word’s pronunciation * find a word’s different forms My students have older dictionaries that they have been using, but need better dictionaries to help them learn and grow as readers, writers, speakers, and listeners of the English language.
