Some special needs students experience difficulties in the regular classroom setting due to their specific and unique sensory input needs. They may become easily distracted, disturb others in the learning environment, and struggle to learn if those needs are not addressed in an effective way. The aim of this project is to provide our campus with additional resources to meet the needs of these students. By making these sensory cushions available to teachers to use for their students, I will be able to assist them with successfully implementing sensory input resources in the general education classroom setting with no additional cost to the classroom teacher. Teachers are often willing to make accommodations for students with special needs but do not know where to access resources and/or lack the financial ability to provide those resources. My goal is to compile several resources that will be readily available for teachers to use with their students.
