We are a new autism program and these books are just what we need to start the love of reading in our classroom. My students love No David and Pete the cat, and like books that they can relate to their cultures and traditions. Reading should be an adventure for everyone. No matter their age or disability, these books will engage and entertain my students as a class and during quiet reading time. I want my students to enjoy every book they see. These books will encourage my high functioning students to peer read with my low functioning students to promote social skills. They will have pride that they can share with each other.
