Many of these books will be used as read alouds and mentor texts in my classroom. They are culturally relevant for many of my students. They will be a good launching point for conversations that stem around creating a classroom community, empathy, and social emotional learning. Other books are for author studies and additional text for our classroom library that are "just right books" for many of my third graders. These books will benefit this years class and many more to come! Students can learn so much about reading and writing from studying rich literature like the ones on my wish list!
