Comfortable and flexible seating promotes a relaxed learning environment for my students to complete independent activities. Currently, in my classroom, the students are able to choose from several locations around the room such as bean bags, floor level tables, yoga mats, and standing tables. I have noticed an incredible difference in the motivation and engagement of my students when they are given the choice of where they sit. The Flex-Space couch and chair that I have chosen will give my students an additional choice in seating and provide them with an option where they are off the floor and out of traditional desks. The Creative Kid Flakes I have chosen with provide my students (many which are on the autism spectrum or diagnosed ADD/ADHD) an opportunity for an independent activity when they need a break.
